Wonder what the old Bali Ngurah Rai airport taxi rates were? You will need to state your destination and they will quote you the price. You will get a ticket with the number of your taxi and the price you need to pay. Your taxi driver will be at the counter as well and walk you to the car. You pay direct to the driver (not at the counter).

5. Scams
Sometimes the Bali airport taxi will charge higher than the official rates. This generally happens during peak times when there is a big demand for taxis. Also, if you arrive late night, the official airport taxi counter may have closed. There will still be taxi drivers hanging around although they will take advantage of the situation and charge very high fees. Have a look in the comments below to read what others have experienced. If you have been charged above the official rate for the Bali airport taxi please share your experience with us.6. Bali private driver
Bali private driver ~ if you rather not deal with the overpriced airport taxis you can also consider getting your own private driver. If you have a private driver waiting for you you will not have to queue for an airport taxi. You will also not need to worry about having to negotiate a fair price with the airport taxi crew. Contact our friends at Top Bali to book a reliable private driver for an airport transfer or day tour. Other alternatives
Hotel driver ~ Most hotels in Bali offer optional airport transfer services at a supplement fee. Some hotels will include free airport transfers if you book direct. Grab Taxi ~ This is the Asian version of Uber (founded in Malaysia). You will need to have the Grab Taxi app installed on your smartphone. Bluebird ~ Bluebird is one of the most reputable meter taxis in Bali. They are officially only allowed to drop customers at the Bali airport. They do not have a license to pick-up customers from the Bali airport. Nevertheless, it is sometimes possible to go up to the highest floor where the international departure terminal is and quickly hop into a Bluebird taxi who has just delivered customers to the departure terminal. Sarbagita public bus ~ Sarbagita is the public transport provided by the Bali province. They have a bus stop at the international arrival terminal on the ground floor. The bus drivers about every 30 minutes to an hour. A bus ticket will cost you about Rp 7,500. The bus stops at major roads and is perhaps not convenient unless you have very little luggage to carry.Continue here .
Hi Just wanted to check the price of the Airport Transfer. The Hotel Charge us
Airport Pick Up
Depensar Airport to Jl.Sriwedari 42 , Taman Ubud
= IDR 350,000
Going home to the Aiport
=IDR, 300,000
Let me know if these price are reasonable?
Please advise
These rates are standard for private car transfers.
is there a way to secure a car and driver before actually arriving in bali?
securing an airport transfer to Ubud at the price of roughly IDR 300,000
Hello, you cannot book the Bali airport taxis in advance. You need to order one from the counter. Please note that nowadays it is unlikely that you will be quoted the official price as they will pretty much always charge more. If you would like to get a private driver in advance of travelling then you can contact our friends at http://www.topbali.com. Have a wonderful trip!
HiKetut,
I’m arriving in Bali 2130pm 5/8/17.
I need taxi/transport from airport to Tuban Torres hotel,( approx. a 15minute WALK from airport)
Can you give me a rough idea of taxi cost?
Ps Love Bali.
Sorry it is hard to say but if I had to make a guess I think the official airport taxi will try to charge you Rp 150,000. Perhaps you can check with your hotel if they provide airport transfers.
I will be traveling solo and going to be arriving in Bali at 12:10 a.m. I need to be transported to the hotel in Ubud center at well past 1:00 a.m. upon going through customs and retrieving my luggage. What will be the best and safe way to arrange transportation? Thanks for your insight.
Most transfers in Bali are safe. Main difference will be rates and comfort. The airport taxi will likely be most expensive as they will know that they are the only option left available late night and will try to charge you as expensive as possible. You will possibly get lower rates if you reserve a private transfer in advance either through your hotel or a freelance driver.
Dear Ketut,
I will arrive mid july at DPS airport around 3pm, so after immigration etc will be 4pm. I will be heading to seminyak near potato head, the hotel quoted me for 242,000 which i found abit expensive. How much the airport taxi will charge estimate? as i know they wont follow the price list.
Thanks
3pm is peak time in the Bali airport and I estimate that the Bali airport taxi will (over)charge you around Rp 200,000 – 250,000 for the transfer to Petitenget. If you do decide to go with the airport taxi please come back here and let us know how much they eventually charged you 🙂
Airport taxi to Seminyak at 7pm: 250,000 Rp
Hi,
We’ll arrive at the airport 11:30am and the hotel want to charge me 300,000IDR for a van (6 seats) to some where near Bali Safari and Marine Park , Is it a reasonable price?
That is about the correct rate for a private car transfer. You may find a slightly more cheaper private car transfer if you continue shopping around.
I will be arriving mid morning and needed to go to Kamandalu Resort in Ubud. How much do I expect to pay please? Or is it better to go via uber?
I believe the official taxi rate will be Rp 350,000 or Rp 300,000 if you get lucky 🙂 At this moment Uber is officially not allowed to pick-up customers inside the Bali airport although it may be possible to get an Uber driver who is happy to sneak in and get customers anyway.
When does the counter for the airport taxi close at night? And is it safe for a female traveling alone to take the other taxis that’s outside the airport?
There is no fixed closing time I believe. When things go quiet the taxi counter closes but many drivers will still hang around. Generally speaking the official rates are ignored late evening and higher rates will be charged. Other than this, it is safe for single female travelers at the Bali airport. If you rather not deal with the airport taxi people you can also book a private driver in advance. http://www.topbali.com offer private car transfers 24/7.
I arrived 14 June 2017 2400 HRS at depansar International Airport, upon completion and exit , I proceeded to get airport taxi at the arrival area. There you can find a counter. I told them the name of the hotel where I am booked in the One legian . As per your published rate it’s IDR 95,000 which i mentioned at the counter. But they say that rate was 3 yrs ago and they charged me IDR 250,000.00. I was dead tired and sleepy so I did not argue anymore.
Sorry to hear that. The rates in this blog post are still accurate as these boards are still at the taxi counter. The taxi staff will pretty much always charge above their official rates for a variety of excuses. Maybe you can book a private driver next time so you do not have to worry about getting cheated. Have a wonderful stay.
I arrived in Bali late at night in June 2017 and was charged $200,000 to get to Legian. We were pissed but needed to get to our hotel. Just today we took our second taxi drive of the trip and the piece of sh*t metered taxi driver charged us $200,000 to go two kilometers. It’s a bit of a racket here…..
Hi. My flight will be arriving 11:20 pm which means I will get out of airport at 12:30 midnight. My hotel is in Ubud, Sari Bamboo Villas. What is the average cost for taxi? Where can I find taxi at this time?
The Bali airport taxi counter will be closed. Nevertheless, taxi drivers will still be available waiting for late night business at inflated rates. I am estimating that the Bali airport taxi will try to charge you around Rp 400,000 – 500,000. You may find a better deal if you book a private driver or hotel driver before travelling.
Hello,
How much would a ride for 2 people from airport to our hotel(Haven Suites Bali Berala in Canggu) be ? Am arriving at 11 :10 PM. Saw on this site that airport taxi charges approx 250000 rupiah from the airport to Canggu area. Since we’ll be arriving rather late, how much do you think the costs will be? Thank you!
Rebecca
Hi Rebecca, the official rate to Canggu is supposed to be Rp 225,000. Unfortunately the airport taxis generally charge above the official fee especially for late night arrivals.
The Airport taxi company is just plain and simple cartel/group of greedy scammers who have played all the other players off from their playground and who WILL rip you of every fucking time. The question is just how much and by what I saw and what happened to me I can say that the guys have mastered the system so well/bad that no tourist is able to start to haggle anything reasonable by themselves at least in the areas where their watching eye is present. I am not going to fall on this shit more than this one time because the more we accept this kind of bs the more greedier they get and soon you’ll be paying 20$ or more for the trip that is worth maybe 5$.
In the future I am going to use the public bus that leaves every 15-30minutes from the same parking area where the taxis are parked (around 0,5$ for the ticket) to get me out of the airport and then jump into a “Blue bird” – the real local taxi which costs maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of what the cartel asks. “Grab” is also a really good option, but then again you need to get out of the cartel area to get one as the “greed gang” sees “grabbers” as a threat.
I used to live in Bali around five years ago and experiencing this shit now as a first encounter in my previous home, was not welcoming at all. Let’s not feed the scam as it only leaves bad taste to everyones mouth except the ones who make huge profit out of it.
Follow up!
I arrived late last night and found many taxi drivers asking for work, even from blue bird and Bali taxi group. The price at the official counter of the airport taxi for ubud and some other place had gone up. In my case, for ubud, to 400. It was really annoying. I complained by telling them that the website told smth totally different but they did not seem to care. Anyways, I found a cab from the Bali group that took me here and from 400 we Agreed to 300 and I was too tired to try for less. However, once I was in ubud he told me that he wanted 50 more because it is just small money and ubud Is far from the airport. Honestly, I feel offended by this people. I didn’t give him the extra money but the guts people have to ask for things is annoying and they seem to do this a lot around here.
We wanted to go from the airport to Balangan beach and the official counter wanted 400k IDR, the drivers in arrival hall wanted 300 – 350k IDR so still expensive for 30 min ride. Finaly I found a man who agreed to go for 200k IDR and he was not a taxi driver, just a man with car who wanted earn some money.
In Ubud none Grab, Uber or even Blue bird taxi wanted to take us to Legian beach. We took a local driver who agreed to go for 270k IDR, most of drivers were not interested in negotiates, just told they price and walked away if we wanted to make it reasonable. Funny thing when Grab driver sent a message that he will go for double of the price estimated by the app.
Finaly we took a Blue bird from Legian to the airport for 75k IDR according to meter and the price was more or less expected.
Transport on Bali is a rip off or even a fraud according to my experience.
Hello, how much is a shuttle to amed? Thanks
Hello
I am arriving to Bali on June 01’st at 19:00. My hotel(Grand La Walon Hotel)in Kuta wants to charge me 250.000 for the transfer. Can you please tell me if this price is reasonable or should I pick a taxi from the airport?
Can you please tell me if the official taxi counter will still be open at that time and what is the usual price for that trip?
Thank you.
Hotels will usually charge more than the airport taxi. You could also book a transfer with our friends at http://www.topbali.com or just get an airport taxi.
Hi Ketut,
How much is the taxi cost to Dash hotel Seminyak. I’,m arriving on sun at 730pm.
The hotel is charging me RP 200.000. Is it reasonable?
Hello Myra, that is about standard rate if you book a private hotel transfer. Have a good trip!
We have just arrived and the guy behind the counter asked for 100k which we expected. After we gave him the money he asked for another 100k. I couldn’t be bothered arguing as it had just took us over 13 hours to get here. ?
Hello. Do you have information on prices for transport from DPS airport? Thank you!
Hello Melanie, the rates are in the post above. Where are you heading to?
Hi, i will be arriving at Ngurah Rai 11.30 pm. What is the rate from airpot to Grand Istana Rama located at Jalan Pantai, Denpasar.
Hi,
I am arriving in Bali on the 4th of April at 8pm in the evening.
What is the going rate for an taxi transfer at this time of night/season?
Is it still around 300,000 IR?
Hi Sam, the rate depends on your destination. Where are you going to?
Hi Ketut,
Sorry I don’t know how to post a new comment. The blog is really helpful thanks!
I land in Bali 9:30pm on 4th April and have been recommended a private driver. I have been quoted 250 to get to seminyak which sounds really overpriced. Is this a fair quote? Would love your feedback.
Many thanks
Hello Laura, if you land at 9:30pm you will be out at around 10:30pm and 250,000 for a late night transfer sounds about right. You can probably get it a little cheaper if you try negotiating with the freelance drivers who will approach you at the airport. You may also try to walk out of the airport and see if you can find a regular meter taxi (if you don’t have that much luggage to haul). If you are travelling for a long period and would like to stretch your budget as much as possible then I would go out and look for cheaper. If this is a long planned holiday and you’d like to get to your hotel fast without having to negotiate for 3-5 dollars then a private driver waiting for you will probably be worth the few extra bucks 🙂
Excellent Blog with useful post. Thanks for sharing.
I will be arriving at 12:45am on the27th. How much will it cost me that late at night from the airport to Seminyak?
Thank you !!!
I will be arriving at 12:25am on the27th. How much will it cost me that late at night from the airport to Seminyak?
Thank you !!!
Ketut,
My wife and I are arriving at the International terminal at 12:55 pm Thursday 9th February. We are going to the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa by taxi. Should we expect to pay then schedule rate of Rp 150,000 at this time or something else?
Regards
William
Hi William, the official rate to Nusa Dua is Rp 150,000 although they do not always follow the rates published on the board as you can see when reading through some of the other comments below.
Hi Ketut! I will be arriving tomorrow at 21:10 and have hotel booked in central ubud, what is the reasonable price to pay for the taxi?
The official airport taxi rate is Rp 300,000. You may be charged above that. If you want a fix rate private car transfer you can contact our friends at http://www.topbali.com. Have a wonderful trip!
Hi two of us land at 2130 and are going to The Kana, Kuta. We have been quoted 150000 rupiah from a private driver. I see the hotel is less than 5km away. Is this a fair price? Thanks
Hi Frank, for a private transfer that is a common rate in Bali. You could try to get it cheaper by negotiating with the airport taxi but as you land at 21:30 you will probably be out by 22:30 which is a tough time to negotiate.
Hello,
I arrive to Denpasar on Wed 26th around 6pm and I’m going to Pecatu, Bingin Beach where my hotel is. The hotel is asking me 300 000 for the shuttle and I think it is too much. What is the average price I should be paying one-way if I just jump into a taxi from the airport? Thanks!
Nora
The airport taxi is supposed to be Rp 225,000 but they generally charge above the published rate.
The airport cab was trying to charge us 550,000 IDR to Canggu.
Hi,
I arrive at Ngurah Rai (Denpasar) at 10pm (22.00hrs) on Monday 9 January 2017 and I need to get to Kuta Central Park Hotel (1 person travelling).
(1) Will the official Taxi Counter still be open at about 10.30/10.45pm that night?
(2) How much can I reasonably be expected to pay for transport (taxi or shuttle) from the airport to Kuta Central Park at that time of night?
Thanks,
David
The counter may be open or may be closed. If the counter is closed there will still be taxi drivers hanging around for late night business. I am guessing you will be charged something around 150,000 – 250,000.
Hello
We are arriving at Bali airport on 11th Dec. 2016 twenty minutes before midnight. We’ll be staying in Legian and the hotel transfer is Rp. 200 000. Is the price OK for the family of 2 adults and 2 kids? Or should we look for a taxi that could be cheaper than that? And is this possible to get a taxi in the middle of the night. Or maybe I should negotiate the transfer price with the hotel?
Thanks in advance for the answer.
Hello Anna, there will always be a cheaper way but it depends on how much time and effort you want to spend. If you want to get to your hotel swiftly then the Rp 200,000 is a fair price. If you are travelling on a budget and you don’t mind spending 15-30 minutes haggling with the freelance drivers or walking out to find a meter taxi then you could find it for less.
I arrived in Bali today from Lombok. After speaking with a local on the flight about the best way to get to Ubud, he recommended for me to get the Uber app which I did. Didn’t know 100% about the issues Uber had with the local transport people but had read some things. Taxis outside the international terminal wanted to charge me 350k to go to Ubud, I did try to negotiate down to 180k, but no. Took 3 attempts to get an Uber driver and he sent a message on Whatsapp when he arrived and we managed to find each other. I was oblivious to the issues and was trying to find out the cost etc before getting into the car, but he asked if we could talk inside the car. He then explained about the issues that Uber have so I feel more educated. The price was 143k to Ubud so that was really good and the driver was really friendly and dropped me near some homestays. So I think to use Uber you need to perhaps be discrete and maybe just say you have a friend or a driver picking you up.
Hi,
We’ll be arriving next week at around 8AM. The homestay in Ubud is charging us 400.000 for the pick up service but from rates above it should be just 300.000. Also checked Uber estimate and it would just be around 200-250k. Is there wifi at the airport for us to actually order an Uber from the airport? Do you think this would be a more cost effective option vs the airport service (which I assume would be the most hassle free)
Thanks!
The airport taxi will likely charge you above the Rp 300,000 fee (see other feedback below). There is a free Wi-Fi signal in the Bali airport so it should be possible to book an Uber car. However, I think Uber is still not allowed to enter Ubud. At this moment Uber is still operating in a grey area. The error is with the Indonesian Government who cannot seem to make up their mind whether they will allow Uber or not. Uber drivers are not very welcome at the Bali airport and if you do get an Uber driver he will want to meet with you in a quiet spot so he does not get caught by the airport drivers.
Thanks for the tip. What about using Grab? I’ve read in other posts that they have a better situation over Uber. I guess it’s too late to get the airport service now. I’ll just hope that we have a positive experience tomorrow.
GrabCar (not GrabTaxi) are somewhat allowed by the government because they use a different fare calculation than Uber. GrabCar quotes you a fixed price from destination A to B. Uber is more like a meter taxi that calculated the fare based on time and distance. As GrabCar is a fixed price they are considered a private car service and not a taxi service. To install Grab on your phone you need an Indonesian phone number on your phone. Also, even though GrabCar are legally better constructed they don’t get much love from the airport drivers and they will still be chased away of noticed. Honestly I think you will be fine whatever way you go. You seem to have done your research so there will be no bad surprises for you 🙂 Please come back here and let us know how it went for you. Have a wonderful trip!
Alternatively you can also contact our friends at Top Bali. Depending on where yous stay in Ubud they charge either Rp 325,000 (central Ubud) or Rp 390,000 (remote Ubud) for a private car transfer.
Hi,
I will be landing in Bali on 8th December at 10 AM and need to go to Kana Kuta hotel ( Jl. Setiabudi no 8 , Kuta , Bali – 80361 ) .
Can you please let me know the expected taxi / Car fare from airport to my hotel.
It should be Rp 80,000 (first picture – destination 18 – KUTA II). Please get back to us here and let us know how much they charged you. Have a wonderful trip.
We landed at DPS on Monday the 7th of November at about 3pm. We were charged 400,000 for a transfer to Ubud city centre (plus 50,000 to go to a hotel which was closer then the city center but not in it).
They had changed it on the board. Definitely wouldn’t have relied on the airport transfer if we didn’t know.
Our driver also tried to get us to stop for Kopi coffee, we declined but the experience left a sour tastes in our mouth. The driver also kept asking how much we paid which was odd.
I had the same experience: read on sites it was 200k to Ubud but on the board at the airport it was changed into 400k. Taxi drivers hanging around started at 500k and would not go down below 400. This was after I turned down a 300k pick up by the host as I thought based on google info that he was charging us lots!
I arrived in Bali in the evening. They wanted more than the fixed price from the list because its night and bla bla… Have fun bargaining 😛
Hi, we’re 3 going to Bali in March and we will be landing at 0:30. We want to get to Padan bai. Is it better to take taxi or a car with driver? Thank you for answer 🙂
I think it will be better if you arrange a driver in advance of travelling. The taxi counter will be closed and the freelance drivers hanging around will try to charge you as much as they can. If you book a driver in advance then you don’t need to worry about being cheated.
I will arrive around 17:40 on 4th November 2016. I will be staying in Jalan Legian Gg Troppozone Kuta, hotel is charging IDR150,000 for pickup. Is the rate acceptable or should we use the airport taxi. Thanks appreciate a lot.
For a private car transfer that rate is acceptable.
Hai Ketut,
we (3 people) will arrive around 3pm on 3rd December 2016. we will be staying in Legian and the hotel is charging IDR200,000 for pickup. is the rate acceptable or should we use the airport taxi as the rate i saw in the table is only IDR95,000. appreciate the help. thanks.
Hello Husna, 3pm is peak time at the Bali airport with many flights landing around that time (2-3pm). Therefore it is likely that the airport taxi will charge above the official rate.
Bali Airport Taxi Service Corrupt!
I’ve lived in Bali over a decade. I’ve come and gone many many times. Since the airport remodel and the relocation of the taxi counters, both domestic and international, they’ve embarked on an all out campaign to cheat all guests arriving in Bali and needing a taxi.
The posted rates are the official rates! Period! Though 95% of the time they over charge guests, sometimes as much as double the official rate. Complaining rarely does any good, nor does calling the airport taxi bos, Wayan Yudha(ph 0812 3984 651). He basically says go find a taxi on the street if you don’t want to pay what the counter is quoting you. This is a terrible way to welcome guests into their island! Please complain with on-line social media, with your consulate, tourist board and so on. Take their pictures and post them on-line.
I urge you all to arrange with private drivers or your hotels for airport pick-ups rather than using the Airport’s, Ngurah Rai Taxi Service. They need to learn a lesson!
Hi,
I’d like to ask you, if you can estimate price from airport to Jl. Raya Pantai Berawa, Gg. Pura Beten Kepuh No. 7, Br. Tandeg, Canggu, 80361. We are landing at 8 – 9pm { 23.10.} and we are four people with four surfboards. I’v been offered price 300 000 IRD. Part of my question is also taxi fares. If i understand right is current fares + – 7000 IRD/km ? { distance is 17km }? thank you for your answer. Best regards Roman
Hello there! I will be arriving to Bali, to the international airport on January 18 after midnight at 0.40 am. I want to go to the b Hotel Bali & Spa on Jl. Imam Bonjol No. 508, 80117 Denpasarm only 6-7 kms from the airprot. Could I expect any taxi drivers to be at the airport or the taxi stand still open that late? What is a reasonable fare to this hotel from the airport? The hotel offered me a $ 10 US one way fare by their shuttle service. Thank You for the information.
Hello Atilla, USD 10 for a midnight transfer to Jalan Iman Bonjol is a great price. I don’t think you will find much lower.
Hello! Thank you for your advice! I will use the hotel’s shuttle service for a $10 US fee, especially after travelling 24 hours from Europe! I do not want any hussle at the airport. cheers, Attila
Hi, we are arriving Sun 23rd Oct around 5:30pm and we need to go up to Karma Mayurah, Mas. What can we expect to pay to get there and should we pre book a taxi or private car or just sort it out when we arrive at the airport? Many thanks, Sharon
Hi Sharon, Mas is not a destination on the taxi board. The nearest would be Blahbatuh at Rp 270,000 (second picture #2). It is possibly that the airport taxi will charge higher than this.
Thanks for your help and advise
Hi ,
I will arrive in 15th Oct at 10:30 pm. Dose the airport taxi will be still open ?? & how much it cost to HARRIS hotel & conventions Denpasar ?? . The hotel charges for the pick-up 300000 Rp
There will still be drivers hanging around. Rp 300,000 for a late night private transfer to Denpasar sounds about right.
Thank you soo much for your help & reply
Last month I arrived in Bali and was quoted R120 000 for Kuta Square which I paid to the desk and was given a ticket. The man at the desk took me to the cab, obviously to pay the driver and keep a bit back for himself. This month I arrived again and the quote was R150 000, there are two price boards on display and they have positioned the one with the furthest destinations over the prices of the one with the closer destinations.
I showed them the web price of R70 000 and even pulled up a Uber estimate of R23 000 – 32 000 they said this was too low. I walked away and was approached by another driver who quoted R100 000, I offered R70 000 and we settled on R80 000. The airport was very quiet at the time which helped and I was prepared to go upstairs and get a cab from departures if I had to.
Normally the prepaid desk is protection against overcharging but in Bali they are worse than the drivers.
Hi, I will be arriving on the 16th ad DPS at 0030 am and i need a taxi to Sukawati. I have pre booked a driver, as i did not want to risk it if the official airport taxi stand is close at that hour. My driver has requested for 300000 rupiahs. I want to know if this rate is acceptable, given that odd time of travel.
Thank you.
That seems like a fair price for a private driver to meet you at midnight and transfer you to Sukawati
Greetings! Could you please let me know what would be the approximate taxi fare from the authorized taxi counter to Tanjung Benoa area- the hotel is Novotel Bali Benoa and we are 2 pax arriving around 9 pm this week.
Also any suggestions of who we can contact for a private car and driver for sightseeing trips during our stay in Bali this week
Request your response at the earliest. Thank you.
The official Bali airport taxi rate to Tanjung Benoa should normally be Rp 175,000 (first picture, 2nd destination). If you are considering booking a private driver you can maybe contact the team at Top Bali. They offer private airport transfers and also private day tours. Their website; http://www.topbali.com/bali-private-driver/
Hello, i will be arrive Bali international airport on 6th September 2016 around 3.45pm, total 4 adults and 2 kids(4 & 5 year olds), can we fit all into one taxi? what will be the taxi charges from airport to Legian Hotel?
thanks
You will not fit in a taxi as these are small size sedan cars with space for 4 passengers (1 in front and 3 in back). The luggage compartment is small. You will want to get 2 airport taxis or consider booking a transfer through your hotel or with a private driver instead.
ketut
we will be arriving at Nguarah rai airport on 1st march 2017 at 0705 hrs. we have 4 adult and 2 medium luggage. can we get 1 taxi to Semiyak resort and what is the estimate price. We need your recommendation 1 or 2 taxi.
thanks Francis
You may be able to fit in one taxi. One passenger in the front and three passengers in the back. Your two medium luggage will likely fit in the luggage trunk. The airport taxis are not very spacious compared to taxis you see in other countries (e.g. Singapore).
Hi there, my flight arrive at around 17.30 and I get a quote from my hotel – Pita Maha Ubud at 400,000. Would u think its reasonable? And do you know I could get sim cards with data at the airport cheaply?
Hello Rudi, that seems a standard price for transfers provided by hotels. If you wish to compare perhaps you can contact http://www.topbali.com. They sell sim cards at cost price.
Hi Ketut. I am arriving into the airport at 2/3 am next month. Yuck! Last year it was so painful. I think we were charged $20 Australia dollars after an hour and a half to get to legion…painful / tiring . Our hotel is offering $30. It seems a bit extreme. But I also can’t be bothered with the 90 drama, which I realize I will get as no taxis available at this time. I do also have a drivers name and mobile? We used him a bit last time. But what do you suggest I should pay, so I can compare. Thanks ?
Hi Leanne, I guess you can pay the amount you think it is worth. If you feel AUD 30 is worth saving you the hassle of having to negotiate in the middle of the night then that is a fair deal I guess. The price to have a private driver wait for you at the airport at 2 or 3am will probably be about AUD 20. Have a great trip Leanne 🙂
Hi Ketut,
We (6 people; ages range between 21 and 78 years) will arrive on July 19th at 21:40. We got offered airport pick up service by the hotel for 250,000 idr. Since we are with 6 people, we will need 2 taxis which will be 500,000 to Bali Ginger Suites in Seminyak. Is this a good rate or should we look for a minivan at the airport? On the one hand hotel airport service is the easy way but on the other hand 500,000 sounds more than what anyone in these comments has paid for.
Thank you!!!
If you have little luggage then you could fit in one private car providing you don’t mind having luggage on your lap. If you are going by taxi then you will definitely need two cars as they are small sedan cars.
bonjour Ketut,
vous pouvez me donne une bonne adresse pour réserver un taxi privé .
merci d’avance.

Anybody knows if is there any possivility to store some bags for 5 days in Denpasar ?
Hello Adam please visit our website http://www.balistoreluggage.com or contact our team at info@balistoreluggage.com
Hello We are arriving in Denpasar around 10.45pm Tues 12th July. Can you please tell me how much for 5 adults to travel to Seminyak? I am wondering if the official airport taxi service will be closed at that time. Also 2 days later my daughter arrives but this will be 1.15pm and we need transfer for her too.
Kind regards
Rita
The official taxi counter will still be open. If you are with 5 adults you will not fit in the small size taxi sedan cars. You will need two airport taxis or book a larger size car with a private driver or your hotel in advance of travelling.
Hi Ketut,
We are a group of 4 ladies arriving in Ngurah Rai airport just after midnight at 12.15am in mid August 2016. We will have 4 mediam sized suit cases. We need to get to Anika Melati Hotel. It maybe after 1am before we are able to exit the airport, by which time the Airport taxi service may end. Would it be possible for us to walk to the hotel from the airport? If so where would the nearest exit be? Otherwise what would be the best way for us to get the hotel at that time of night?
There will still be taxi drivers late night but prices are generally higher than day time transfers. Perhaps you can ask your hotel a quote for a car transfer. You can could walk as well and it might take you 20 or 30 minutes (rough guess).
Thanks Ketut. The Hotel cannot arrange a taxi.
Looking at google map, it gives the shortest route for walking to Anika Melati Hotel as about 7 minutes. But this is if we exit the airport from the side on the east(is this an exit?). This leads onto 2 small roads which it says are partially restricted which then appear to lead onto the main road, Jl. Airport Ngurah Rai. Is this route accessible to pedestrians? Has anyone walked this route? If we exited from the north side where the car parks are, it would take too long to walk.
